Owen McManus, Jr. is a third-generation minister with a call to the nations. He has led the congregation of City Church since 1993, including the complete rebuilding of both the physical and spiritual house in the critical days following the horrific natural disaster Hurricane Katrina, which devastated the New Orleans area in August 2005. He also spearheaded the purchase and renovation of our current facilities, situated on 33 acres in eastern metro New Orleans.  In the 10 years since Hurricane Katrina, City Church has grown to a membership of over 8,000, occupying two campuses in the New Orleans area, with plans to launch a third during fall 2016.

Under his leadership, City Church has become one of the largest and fastest growing churches in New Orleans. Pastor McManus’ primary call is as a prophetic pastor.  He has operated as a seasoned evangelist for many years, traveling to over 27 countries worldwide and seeing hundreds of thousands come to Christ under his preaching.  His background is in the arts, music and, most recently, film production.  Since 2011, he has produced and directed 4 movies that aim to reach the unsaved for Christ.  The most recent endeavor, The Good Life, had the largest red carpet premiere in the history of our region, with over 3000 people in attendance; it is currently being distributed worldwide.

Pastor McManus’s heart is devoted to the youth of New Orleans.  In fall 2006, he and his wife, Tammy, founded International Bible Institute (IBI). Combining practical ministry with Bible-based Christian doctrine, IBI now trains more than 100 full-time interns and conducts outreach on every college campus and in many high schools throughout the metro area.  IBI interns are trained-up in the five-fold ministry and released from New Orleans to serve around the world and impact the nations.

Pastor McManus moves heavily in the power gifts, with a strong anointing to minister the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, deliverance from demonic oppression, and emotional and physical healing.  His meetings are characterized by an overwhelming supernatural presence of the Holy Ghost, with signs, wonders and miracles.  His preaching style is straightforward, yet profound: the Lord has given him a clarity and understanding that frees the minds of the unbeliever and ministers to the saints.

He has been married to Tammy Pohlmann McManus since 1992. Together, they pastor the thriving congregation of City Church.  They have been blessed with three daughters, Alexandra, Brooke, and Olivia, and one son, Owen Liam.
